Oprah Winfrey may well be a billionaire media mogul, but her best friend and Tv set journalist Gayle King thinks she could have been a prosperous therapist.
King talked about how Winfrey supported her when she divorced her ex-husband, William Bumpus, throughout Tuesday’s episode of Brooke Shields’ podcast, “Now What? With Brooke Shields.”
“She is a single of the most effective therapists at any time,” King stated about her longtime close friend. “If she had a second profession, it would be — trustworthy to God, she’s a single of the most effective therapists at any time.”
King has spoken publicly about the time she caught Bumpus in mattress with an additional girl in 1990. The pair divorced in 1993, and they share two young children, Kirby Bumpus and William Bumpus Jr.
The “CBS This Morning” co-host advised Shields that she initially only informed Winfrey and her mother about her ex-husband’s infidelity.
“I understood I could have faith in them,” she explained.

King recalled the evening she caught Bumpus dishonest during a 2016 Vainness Good interview.
When questioned if there was a living man or woman she most despised, the Television set host mentioned the lady her spouse experienced an affair with.
“‘Despise’ is a powerful phrase,” she explained. “I’m not a large enthusiast of the woman I caught naked with my now ex-husband on June 24, 1990, at 9:16 p.m.— but I really do not bear in mind the facts.”
In 2010, Winfrey explained her tight bond and friendship with King throughout an job interview with Barbara Walters.
“She is… the mother I by no means experienced. She is… the sister every person would want,” she stated. “She is the buddy that all people warrants. I do not know a superior particular person. I really do not know a far better individual.”
